Nar Mund Mala or Skull Mala is carved Carved Skull Mala and is used for japa of Goddess Kali, Lord Shiva and planets Rahu&Ketu! Skull signifies strength and is said to amplify prana (life force energy.) The skull as worn by the Hindu Goddess Kali symbolises liberation, knowledge & wisdom. Kali carries a fierce love that destroys demons and the part of our ego that deceives and creates troubling thoughts, freeing us of our lurking fears by giving us the strength to face the inner darkness to bring those fears to the light of consciousness. Also, in Hindu mythology, lord Shiva is the destroyer, the lord of all five elements, the ascetic god who meditates on a deer skin. He also wears a garland made of human heads (Mund Mala). Legend has it that Parvathi (Shiva’s wife) asked him why he wears the garland of heads. To this he replied that every time Parvathi dies, a head gets added to the garland and hence it continues to grow. In Hinduism, the mundamala is a characteristic of fearsome aspects of the Hindu Divine Mother and the god Shiva; while in Buddhism, it is worn by wrathful deities of Tibetan Buddhism.
